First Five Days of Sketchpad project

I was invited to take part on a project for fun that is about doing one sketch a day. This is an idea from my friends in Cape Town South Africa. I thought it was interesting and exciting. this little accordion booklet will go there once I reach the end of the month!
here are the first 5 days and these are urban sketches of Boston. I noted geo location time of the day and date
The sketches are done in ink with a Lamy and digitally colored with my own personal set of self made Photoshop brushes

Urban Sketcher Challenge. -Draw your Kitchen

I tried Dr. Martin’s watercolors on Canson watercolor panels. The last two are on Bristol plate panel. I like this panels a lot. it’s easier to scan without warping the paper, and also it is easier to avoid “poodles” of paint

Sketching the City

Back to urbanscapes after doing faces for a while.. This is Cotman's watercolors on Bristol Plate. The first one I wanted it to be very vibrant as it is life in in the streets of the North End Boston, a commercial street.

For this watercolor I wanted a more dull palette, as it was raining and kind of a gray cloudy day. This is Washington. My friend sent me a view from his office and I loved it so much I decided to draw it

A friend in New Mexico has a cabin in the mountains and its snowing! He sent me this wonderful view, the sun coming through the trees was something I really wanted to capture and emphasize. The coolness of the snow in contrast with the warm light was really beautiful in the photo. Here the palette is more of a balance of temperatures
